Urgent Care
What is AFC Urgent Care?
AFC is a walk-in clinic focused on ambulatory care outside of an emergency room. Patients may use our urgent care services if they have an injury or illness requiring urgent medical attention but is not a life threatening emergency. Unlike major emergency rooms, we can see a patient quickly and at a lower cost.
Why should I come to AFC Bridgeport instead of another walk-in?
Here at AFC we take great pride in our policy to make patient care our top priority. Our experienced medical personnel is able to treat every individual patient as if they are the only one we are caring for. Every patient receives our undivided attention while promising a short wait time and accurate treatment.
At AFC, we can guarantee you that the cost and wait will be a fraction of what is spent at an emergency room and no appointment is ever necessary as we offer our services on a walk-in basis. Appointments are never required at AFC and we can treat any non-life threatening illness or injury.
What services does AFC offer?
- Trauma (non-life threatening injuries)
- Minor surgical procedures
- Digital X-Ray services on site
- Lab work on site
- Occupational health services
- Vaccination and physicals
When can I come?
- 161 Boston Ave: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM, and Weekends 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
- 4200 Main St: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM, and Weekends 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
We understand that illness and injury have a tendency to happen after 5pm and during the weekends; that’s why we have a board-certified physician on staff 7 days a week.
What should I bring?
All you need to bring is a recent photo ID (including but not limited to a driver’s license, passport, military ID, state ID) and your insurance card. If a child under the age of 18 is a patient, he/she must be accompanied by a parent. If the parent is unavailable, a caretaker over the age of 18 with a signed letter from one of the parents is required to authorize medical treatment to the patient. If you cannot find your insurance card, don’t worry. All we need is the policy ID number and insurance company.

AFC Urgent Care FAQs
-
When should I choose urgent care?
If you’re dealing with a pressing, non-life-threatening medical issue and don’t want to see a doctor, urgent care could be for you. AFC walk-in clinics are able to see patients dealing with allergic reactions, broken bones, colds and flus, and much more.
-
Do I need insurance to visit AFC?
At AFC we offer very competitive rates for self-pay urgent care and walk-in clinic services. We understand that not everyone may have an insurance plan and we make sure that our out-of-pocket patients are given the same high-quality medical treatment that we give to all our patients.
-
How long will my visit take?
The main advantage of choosing AFC is our short wait times – often under 15 minutes. The total length of your visit will depend on what you’re being seen for, but many patients can be in and out of our clinics in around 30 minutes.
